Sub Zero

"Sub Zero Ice Cream: Where Science and Cream Mix!"
The key is to start with liquid ice cream (low-fat or regular), stir in your favorite flavors and mix-ins, and freeze the concoction instantly with liquid nitrogen.

April and I took the kids out for a science lesson and ice cream before heading out to Boo at the Zoo! What a great place to learn and endulge in some fresh ice cream. Everyone should check this place out!

You might be a redneck......

If it takes you more than 2 1/2 years to remove the extra shingles from your roof left from construction! For those of you who are wondering, Yes, those Christmas lights have been up all year long! We all have a little redneck in us!

Riding B on the Goldwing!

Grandma and Grandpa Warth stopped by today to spend some time with the kids. They thought it would be fun to give them some rides around the block on Papa's Honda Goldwing!

Here are a few bikers lingo for ya:
Riding B: Riding second on the motorcycle, behind the driver. The “B” does not stand for back.
Knucklehead, Panhead or Shovelhead: Decades-old models of Harleys, nicknamed due to the shape of the engine's rocker box. When someone says they own one, nod appreciatively – there are almost no original ones left.
Burn-out: Spinning the rear wheel sufficiently to melt the tire, competing to see who can put down the biggest patch of rubber on asphalt. It ruins the tire, but it's cool.

Fair Times

While waiting in the heat for kids I have said many times, “This is not fair to the rest of us to have to wait for” etc etc etc…. Sierra has since picked up this phrase, as most kids mimic what we say, and while waiting says,”come on this is not a fair, please hurry up!”
In this case it is a fair that we did attend and here are a few pictures from our family outing!
Our good friends, The Baileys, that we met up with at the fair.

MMMMM, Fair food! You can find anything at the fair. Louisiana Crawfish found right here in Idaho!

Not much left for daddy!

Sierra’s turn for her caveman etiquette
The Turkey Leg, our families favorite fair food. It’s as big as Robbie’s head!
Good Food, Good Friends, Good Fun, Good amount of cash withdrawn from our bank account……….PRICELESS

Last Camping Trip of the year!

What started out to be a questionable camping trip ended up being a lot of fun. We first arrived just at dusk so it made setting up camp a little difficult. The temperature began to drop and getting warmer clothes on was a must. That is when we realized mine and Rob's clothes had been left behind at home. Who goes camping and forgets their clothes? I mean I've heard of fash lights, spatulas, and chairs being forgotten, but our clothes. That about ranks up there with forgetting toilet paper. After Rob made a fire and quick trip home we were set for fun! We owe a huge thank you to Matt and Lydia Warth for actually planning and getting everybody's butts up on the mountain. It was really a great family experience to be amoungst loved ones in our Our Heavenly Fathers creations. It was beautiful up there. Many memories not to be forgotten. We of course heard our share of Ghost stories with Papa Warth being there. Sierra is still not convinced that was a kitten in your closet!

Super Saturday Enrichment Project

Here's the 6ft. garland I made and have been stressing out about over the past week. The final count for the Enrichment activity is 20.
Who would have thought you couldn't purchase nuts in their shell this time of year. None of our local stores in this great city of Pocatello will carry them until the middle of November. They are a seasonal item. There are so many people to thank for helping me in completing this project. My good husband for dealing with me in my days of stress. Eloyd Harris for pausing his football game to ultimately get me the nuts needed for this project. My mother-in-law for being my personal On Star and GPS, and our wonderful neighbors the Waddupps for watching my kids while I used there drill press to drill every stick, and nut. Not to mention they also feed us dinner and helped cut every stick for this project. We have some amazing friends and family. Thanks again!
Made from various nuts, sticks, pine cones, bean pods, cinnamon sticks, raffia and fabric.

Total cost per 6ft garland is a whopping $2.50

I love how it turned out. I may make enough of them to use as garland for our Christmas tree. If not I'll just use a couple to decorate our front door with.

Another project crossed off the list!

We added a concrete pad, 36ft. by 15ft., to extend on to our back patio. This is where we will also put the shed we are building. We owe a huge thank you to Rob's friend Curtis for actually making this pour happen! These two guys completed this whole project in less than two days! Rob cracked a main beam on our deck, we lost some decorative curbing, and our lawn got a bit torn up from this project but the concrete looks amazing! We are so excited for when all the projects will be complete! Does that ever happen?!

Snow in October!

Is it El Nino or La Nina or both? It's crazy we had our first huge snowstorm of the year this early in October! We managed to make the most of it though. We had a great time but still can't say we are quite ready for winter yet. We have another concrete pad to pour, fencing, sod and to finish the shed all before winter offically sets in.

Experimenting with Japanese Food

Rob and I decided we wanted to go to Mount Fujiyama Japanese Restaurant for some sushi. We thought it would be fun for the kids to some cultural experience. Hey, who doesn't like to eat with chopsticks?!

Robbie is a champ with the chopsticks! He even managed to eat salad with them!

Sierra chose spring rolls as her appetizer. She actually perferred what Robbie got instead.

Only in Idaho!

Yep, only in Idaho could a family "glean" this many potatoes. After the farmers were done harvesting, and with thier permission, we entered the field searching for spills and skipped spots. It feels a lot like a treasure or easter egg hunt. Everyone always trying to find the biggest baker. We came home with a huge truck load to share with family and friends. It makes me wonder, "Do they glean corn in Iowa?"

Yep, always in my flip flops. A Texas girl gleaning potatoes in Idaho!

Rob found a spill!

Look at this biggie!

So heavy!

I'm busy mom!

The Reel Deadliest Catch

What a great trip we took to Alaska this year! One of those rare occasions when the run timing was perfect. We threw the whole thing together in two days. That's one of the problems when you have four salmon fishing fanatics in a group. Enjoy the pictures!
